Energy sovereignty means recognizing that your emotional bandwidth is finite and precious. You get to choose who receives your empathy, your advice, your emotional labor. This doesn't make you selfish. It makes you strategic.
Thank you for this great article. Very good to look at the ways I have shown up as this, the ways in have allowed and maybe even unconsciously encouraging, and how to find my neutral stance. As I wrote that I just thought being neutral is being nurturing to myself. Thank you again!
I am happy that there is some nuance to this conversation. I agree with it and it is a very important part of sovereignty. But we have lot of discourses that skip over the middle. They don't introduce nuances to conversation like this because the transition from dependency to sovereignty is very nuanced and happens in stages as we all know from our own personal experience. I hope we as a society stop categorizing everything as black or white.
I like that. Especially because "trying to live in sovereignty" can easily become another goal and a way to beat ourselves up for not reaching it perfectly. Sovereignty isn't a goal to reach, but our natural state when we stop looking for energy/truth (whatever higher qualities we think we don't posses) in other people.
So simple but also absolutely profound. I’ve heard this same concept explained in so many ways before, but this is seriously the best. And it really doesn’t villainise anyone in the equation. Stated very factually and dare I say, unbiasedly.
A very helpful article. I’ve shared it to my audience & I hope it gets a lot more shares. This is just such practical and actionable advice. So happy I subscribed.

Yes precisely. I was caught in the trap of doing it perfectly for many years. We all have all the good and evil within us.
