It’s time for a short introduction, so that you get to know the guy behind this blog. Not that this is really possible, but let’s just pretend. You will get a better picture anyway, when reading through my posts.
This blog evolved around articles I wrote from beginning of 2018 on the STEEM blockchain and then the idea was born to put them also on the good old internet, so that the rest of the world gets the chance to read them.
I was born a mystic. What is a mysticism?
Mysticism is the pursuit of a spiritual and intangible quest; the finding of a “way out” of illusion or a “way back” to absolute truth. It is an intimate personal adventure. Mysticism is the art of arts. It is the most romantic of adventures.
—Evelyn Underhill, Mysticism
From very early on in my life I was drawn to find answers to the big questions of our life. What is this all about? What is truth? What is God? Who am I?
Starting with western and then eastern wisdom traditions of our world, I studied everything from esotericism to philosophy to religion. My journey began when I was about 14 years old with Castaneda, Krishnamurti, Reiki and many more. When I was 18, being already a Reiki teacher and deeply inclined in Zen, I came in touch with Advaita Vedanta.
Advaita Vedanta is the end of the Vedas – the quintessence of one of the oldest wisdom traditions of our world.
For the next years I became fascinated with nonduality and finding out who I really am.
At age 20 I experienced a deep satori experience at a silent retreat with an Advaita master. I became silent and with that, the whole world disappeared for many weeks.
What I didn’t know back then was, that there were many “uncooked seeds” – in other words, I was not aware of the huge collapse of concepts and ideas that were yet to come.
When thoughts and the world appeared again, the longing to “go back to the state that I never left” – my true home – got more intense day by day. I was struggling with the huge gap between my experiences and what the world seemed to mirror me back.
Back then I also got in touch with A Course in Miracles – a spiritual masterpiece written in Christian language from a guy known as Jesus. It took me 20 more years, to understand its true meaning…
A true mystic looks for God above and beyond all worldly endeavors.
A true mystic is willing to go through a deep inner cleansing of the soul, accept responsibility for decisions, and begin living in accordance with the Will of God—which is our own will.
A true mystic dedicates his or her life to spiritual growth and to the process of being free of illusion in favor and recognition of reality.
A true mystic is a lover of the Absolute.
– Jon Mundy, Mysticism and Miracles
I tried to live a “normal life” with a job, wife and kids, divorce, then a very traumatizing relationship with a narcissistic woman and a breakup, that literally broke down the rest of my world, just to find truth again – and Love.
I don’t tell you that as some kind of achievement – it’s not. Enlightenment is not something you gain or earn. It’s much more a questions of unlearning and everything that is not Truth falling away. It’s a painful process sometimes – at least for the Ego and its pictures of how a “final state” looks like.
Awakening and Enlightenment is nothing an ego should strive for anyway. It’s the end of the belief in separation and specialness and therefore experienced as death.
I never lost my humor though. That’s important – even though, it’s sometimes dark and provocative as my last name suggests.
In the end Living Truth means, to be wholeheartedly devoted to Truth and nothing else.
Everything that is not of Truth will fall away by itself. Only Truth remains.
God wins in the end. So why not let him win now?
You have to know, that there is only Gods will. Our own will is imagined and will be disappointed in the end – we will become disillusioned. The end of illusions – the dream called Life – is inevitable. It will happen to all of us.
Each and every moment, we have a decision though. Our real decision is whether we listen to our Ego, the voice of insanity or to the Holy Spirit, the voice of sanity.
When you have learned how to decide with God, all decisions become as easy and as right as breathing. There is no effort, and you will be led as gently as if you were being carried down a quiet path in summer. Only your own volition seems to make deciding hard.
This also means, that all struggle and effort is born out of the believe, that we can create a world outside of God – a world of division and specialness.
We don’t have to live like this. There is another way.
If your goal is Peace and you want to be Living Truth, you are not advised to do more but less. It’s all our doing, that makes living in truth so complicated.
When peace comes at last to those who wrestle with temptation and fight against the giving in to sin; when the light comes at last into the mind given to contemplation; or when the goal is finally achieved by anyone, it always comes with just one happy realization: I need do nothing
